At a time, world economies are gradually picking up and opening, the world is yet gain caught up with deep uncertainties. Health officials must immediately deploy strict and decisive epidemiological control measures to curtail any imminent spread. Corporate executives, business heads, politicians and opinion molders need to engage in public advocacy on enlightening their subjects about this virus and leading by example in adhering to health safety guidelines. Government on its part must ensure the timely provision of vaccines for all and smooth administration of the vaccines. The omicron variant is a wakeup call that pandemic threat to public safety is real.
